Two Primary Schools In Nakuru Fight Over A Head teacher

Kericho, Buretti constituency

Learning has been disrupted in two Primary schools in Nakuru as they fight over a head teacher.

The schools affected were Sosit and Mabwaita primary schools in Bureti Constituency Kericho County.

Learners from Mabwaita primary schools alongside their parents were forced to walk five Kilometers to Sosit Primary school.

Their aim was to demand the return of their head teacher who was transferred to Sossit.

The board of management stated that they had voted to the Ministry of Education to protest the transfer of the head teacher.

The board claimed that the head teacher had brought a lot of changes in the school including the increase of learners from 50 to over 300 in a short period of time.

“Our head teacher was merely two years in the school and we must say that we are merely disappointed. Mabwaita Primary school was in a state of ICU”

one of the protesters told Citizen.

The whole protest took the intervention of the police to calm the situation as the angry parents and teachers were adamant.

This made the protesters angry for being sent the security personnel instead of the Ministry of Education to sort out the issue.

“They should have asked the ministry of Education instead of protesting as teachers get transferred from time to time”

the police said.
