The National Transport and Safety Authority have impounded two matatus branded Moneyfest after being spotted violating traffic rules along Magadi Road.

A video shared on the social media showed two popular matatus plying the Nairobi-Rongai route being driven recklessly with individuals atop the PSV.

The videos went viral with Kenyans expressing frustration and concern over the potential dangers rogue PSVs posed to the public.

In response to this, NTSA have issued an update clarifying that the two vehicles in the viral videos were impounded.

“We thank you for bringing this to our attention. The two PSVs are at the Police Station for processing and further action.”

The two matatus in question are linked to George Ruto, President William Ruto’s son.

This is not the first time the Moneyfest matatu has been caught violating traffic rules.

The matatu gained attention last year after Citizen TV exposed its crew for operating without a license and intimidating traffic police officers.

Report indicated that the matatu  had no insurance, valid operating license and was also not  registered in any Sacco.

Similarly to now, some youths were seen hanging dangerously as the matatu was being driven around Nairobi CBD, bringing business to a near standstill.
