Embu Mourners Reject Presidential Tribunal During Kivuti’s Family Funeral

Public Service CS Justin Muturi was unable to read President Ruto’s condolence message during the burial of former Embu Senator Kivuti’s son, Eric Kivuti.

Eric Kivuti died last week at MP Shah hospital after a short illness.

The Head of State was unable to attend the service since he was at the burial of the National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula’s mother in Bungoma.

Nevertheless, he had written a message to be read to the mourners.

I have been given a message of condolence form His Excellency the President.

Cabinet Secretary Muturi began as the mourners booed at him.

Sasa pale nimefika mwisho ni kwamba nimepewa ujumbe. Niwapatie. Nisome ama nisisosme.

The crowd responded by bellowing ‘usisome’.

I have been advised wisely, you know, as a former speaker, nimeskia hiyo kura ya makelele.

The Public Service CS said.

With the mourners’ demand, CS Muturi was forced to adhere to it and handed over the condolence message to Kivuti’s famly.

This was the second time the people of Embu had expressed their dislike towards the President.

Recently, 24-year-old Billy Mwangi was abducted at a barbershop in Embu four days before Christmas.

Since then, his family has been seeking answers in Embu to no avail.

They have also been protests towards the matter, not only to Billy Mwangi but several Kenyans who have been abducted as well.
