Ruto to Tour Kisii and Nyamira Counties for Three Days

President William Ruto is expected to undertake a three-day development tour of Kisii and Nyamira counties next week, during which he will launch and inspect various projects.

The Head of State is scheduled to visit the Gusii region from Monday, November 9, to Wednesday, November 11, 2026.

South Mugirango Member of Parliament Silvanus Osoro announced the planned visit on Monday, November 2, noting that the President would oversee several development activities across the region.

Among the projects lined up for launch are the Sengenya-Openda-Karungu-Kiagware Road and the Nyakeyo-Nyamasege-Nyakorere-Moma roads in South Mugirango Constituency.

Osoro also indicated that the presidential visit would feature major announcements, although he did not disclose further details.

The legislator added that the detailed itinerary would be released once the arrangements were finalised.

The visit will provide an opportunity for the President to assess ongoing development projects and launch new initiatives in the two counties.

The planned road projects are expected to improve transport and connectivity within South Mugirango, making it easier for residents to access markets, schools and other essential services.

The visit will also take the President to Nyamira County, where he is expected to inspect ongoing government projects and engage with local leaders and residents.

However, specific locations and activities in the county are yet to be announced.

The presidential tour comes as the government continues to highlight infrastructure development as part of its agenda, with road construction and rehabilitation among the projects being undertaken across different parts of the country.
