KeNHA Issues Notice on Temporary Thika–Kilimambogo Road Closure

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a temporary closure of a section of the Thika-Kilimambogo (A3) Road at Gatuanyaga near Delmonte Farms.

The closure will take place from Friday, September 11, to Friday, October 2, 2026, to allow pavement construction works.

The closure will affect the section between Km 16+000 and Km 18+250, where KeNHA said works will be undertaken on a failed section of the road.

Motorists using the Thika-Kilimambogo road will instead use designated diversion lanes provided at the affected section to minimise disruption during the construction period.

Motorists have been advised to follow the traffic management plan and observe road safety measures while using the diversion routes.

“Motorists are further advised to follow the proposed traffic management plan as well as cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site,” KeNHA said.

The temporary closure is expected to remain in place for about three weeks, with normal traffic operations set to resume upon completion of the works.
