Ruto Graces Anne Waiguru’s Son Njuguna’s Lavish Wedding

President William Ruto on Saturday, August 29, joined senior political leaders and other prominent guests at the wedding of Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru’s son, Njuguna Waiguru, and his bride, Joanne Rodriguez.

The colourful ceremony brought together some of the country’s leading political figures, including governors, Members of Parliament and other dignitaries, highlighting the prominence of the Waiguru family within Kenya’s political circles.

The wedding was held at an undisclosed location, with the setting resembling some of the high-end venues associated with Naivasha’s hospitality circuit.

Njuguna and Joanne exchanged vows in an outdoor garden ceremony decorated in maroon, burgundy and green.

The venue featured cascading red floral arrangements, hanging red lanterns and white parasols carried by members of the bridal party, creating an elegant atmosphere against a backdrop of lush greenery.

Joanne looked elegant in an off-shoulder white wedding gown detailed with lace sleeves and intricate beading.

Njuguna, meanwhile, wore a cream tuxedo jacket with satin lapels, an off-white pinstriped shirt and a matching cream bow tie.

He paired the outfit with tailored cream trousers and brown leather loafers, while his natural twists completed his look.

The bridal party complemented the colour scheme, with bridesmaids dressed in deep maroon gowns and carrying white parasols as they lined the aisle.

The reception was held inside a spacious tent decorated with hanging greenery and red accents. Guests arrived in a mix of formal outfits and vibrant traditional attire before settling at tables dressed in green linen with burgundy details.

Following the ceremony, President Ruto congratulated the newlyweds and wished them a fulfilling marriage marked by love, friendship, patience and commitment.

He encouraged the couple to support one another, communicate with patience and remain committed to their union as they navigate the different stages of married life.

The wedding comes only weeks after Governor Waiguru celebrated another major milestone in her family.

On July 18, she marked the traditional marriage ceremony of her other son, Don, and his partner, Yvonne, during their Ngurario ceremony.

The governor celebrated the occasion by welcoming Yvonne into the family and expressing her happiness as the couple began their new chapter together.

She also encouraged the newlyweds to remain guided by values such as love, respect, faith and kindness as they build their life together.

Njuguna’s wedding marks the second marriage celebration involving one of Waiguru’s sons within just over a month, bringing together family, friends and a notable section of Kenya’s political establishment.
