Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has denied claims that he banged a table at the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga during a meeting.
Speaking during an interview on Wednesday, Babu maintained that he has never disrespected Raila, whom he described as his political leader and an elder he respected.
He said the meeting in question was attended by several politicians, including Makadara MP George Aladwa, the late Jimmy Mwenje, former Starehe MP Margaret Wanjiru?

Babu further dismissed claims that Raila had accused him of disrespecting him, noting that the former Prime Minister never publicly raised such an issue against him.
He accused some individuals of taking advantage of Raila’s death to make unverified claims about their interactions with the former ODM leader.
Babu’s remarks came days after Calvin Okoth, popularly known as Gaucho, claimed that Raila had told him about an incident involving Babu after he failed to secure the chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
According to Gaucho, Raila had recounted that Babu became angry during the disagreement over the committee leadership and allegedly banged a table while expressing his frustrations.
Babu has now rejected the account, insisting that the allegations do not reflect what transpired during the meeting.
