Former Deputy President and DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua has claimed that individuals working within President William Ruto’s office have been leaking confidential government information to him because they have lost confidence in the President’s leadership.
Speaking during an engagement with leaders in Nakuru on Thursday, August 6, Gachagua said the sources had voluntarily shared sensitive information with him, adding that he would protect their identities and that efforts to uncover them would be futile.
He maintained that those providing him with the information considered it their patriotic duty and trusted him to disclose matters of public interest responsibly.

The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader further alleged that many of the informers were dissatisfied with the government’s spending priorities, claiming some public servants felt underpaid despite what he described as lavish expenditure elsewhere.
Gachagua suggested that improving the welfare of staff working around the President would help stem the flow of information from within the government.
He also described the alleged information-sharing network as operating with a high level of secrecy, likening it to an underground operation.
Additionally, the former deputy president claimed he had received fresh information from officers within the State Department for Immigration regarding an alleged funding crisis that had disrupted passport printing services.
According to Gachagua, money intended for passport-related services was allegedly diverted by a Cabinet Secretary seeking to strengthen his political influence ahead of a future presidential bid.
He further alleged that the funds were used to support political allies seeking elective office in a bid to build a future support base.
Gachagua challenged the media to independently verify his claims by visiting immigration offices across the country.
