Two Kenyans wanted over the murder of a boda boda rider and the theft of his motorcycle in Busia County have been arrested in Uganda following a cross-border manhunt.
According to a police report, the suspects fled to the neighboring country after allegedly killing the rider in Butula Constituency.
Investigators from the Butula Constituency intelligence unit identified the suspects as local residents, with one of them already on the police radar over other criminal activities.

Police believe the duo assaulted the boda boda rider to death in Bujumba sub-location before escaping with his motorcycle into Uganda.
Investigations further revealed that after crossing the border, the suspects allegedly attacked another boda boda rider in Uganda, leaving him seriously injured before stealing his motorcycle and fleeing.
Ugandan security agencies launched a manhunt that resulted in the arrest of two of the three suspects believed to have been involved in the cross-border crime spree.
Authorities also recovered the motorcycle stolen from the Kenyan victim, while efforts are ongoing to trace the second motorcycle allegedly stolen from the Ugandan rider.
The suspects are expected to face criminal charges in Uganda before being handed over to Kenyan authorities to answer additional charges related to the murder and motorcycle theft committed in Busia County.
The arrests come amid a rise in violent robberies targeting boda boda riders and motorcycle theft across the country.
On Monday, the Wajir Law Courts sentenced two men to death after convicting them of robbing a boda boda rider of his mobile phone and Ksh15,000 from his mobile money account.
The court heard that the two, alongside five accomplices, posed as passengers before attacking the rider with knives in Wajir Township on November 13, 2025.
They forced him to reveal his mobile money PIN and withdrew Ksh15,000, but the rider later escaped and alerted a mobile money agent, leading to investigations and their eventual conviction.
