The Linda Mwananchi Movement raised KSh519,144 from public contributions on Tuesday, July 21.
In an update shared on its social media platforms, the movement said 9,419 Kenyans had made donations by the close of Tuesday.
According to the movement, the average contribution stood at KSh55. The highest single donation was KSh5,000, while the smallest contribution received was KSh1.

The movement expressed gratitude to supporters, noting that the donations increased after Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna appeared on a morning television show to rally Kenyans behind the initiative.
Sifuna had unveiled the Linda Mwananchi Paybill number, 3033049, and encouraged members of the public to make small contributions, saying he would later disclose the total amount raised.
The fundraising drive comes amid an exchange between Sifuna and COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli over political financing.
Sifuna dismissed Atwoli’s suggestion that he could finance his political ambitions, insisting that he preferred grassroots fundraising through small donations from ordinary Kenyans.
The Nairobi Senator maintained that his generation of leaders seeks to champion a different style of politics by relying on public support instead of wealthy financiers.
He argued that broad-based public contributions promote accountability and reduce the risk of politicians becoming beholden to a single individual, which could create opportunities for corruption.
