Viwandani Member of County Assembly (MCA) Aaron Kang’ara Wangari has been charged with robbery with violence alongside two other suspects following investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
In a statement on Tuesday, July 14, the DCI said Kang’ara, who represents Viwandani Ward in Makadara Constituency, Nairobi County, was arraigned before the Makadara Law Courts together with Kefa Munyoro and Zablon Kirima Mwangi.
According to investigators, the three suspects were arrested in connection with a violent robbery that allegedly took place in Donholm on June 26, 2026.

The DCI said investigations established that the suspects allegedly attacked three victims before robbing them of cash and other valuables.
The trio is accused of using violence during the incident before fleeing the scene.
The suspects appeared before the Makadara Law Courts, where they each pleaded not guilty to the charge of robbery with violence.
The court granted each of the accused a bond of Ksh1 million or an alternative cash bail of Ksh500,000 pending the hearing and determination of the case.
The matter is expected to proceed to hearing as the prosecution seeks to present evidence gathered during the DCI’s investigations into the alleged robbery.
If convicted, robbery with violence is one of the most serious offences under Kenyan law and carries severe penalties.
However, the three accused persons remain presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by a court of law.
