Omollo Breaks Silence on Osotsi Attack Claims in Kisumu

Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has dismissed allegations by Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi claiming he orchestrated an attack on the senator in Kisumu in April.

Speaking during an interview on Tuesday, May 19, Omollo termed the allegations as baseless and described them as mere speculation with no factual backing.

He maintained that any claims of criminal involvement should be formally reported to law enforcement agencies and handled through established legal processes rather than public accusations.

Omollo further stated that no complaint or evidence linking him to the incident had been presented to authorities, insisting that he was unaware of any official investigation implicating him.

“I don’t think I would want to respond to Osotsi; he is a leader, a senator, a legislator. We are a constitutional country with processes, and if anyone, not just in the name of the PS, is involved in any criminal activity, there is a process that needs to be undertaken. If there is any evidence that you were involved, what I would go to a police station, report, and follow the matter. Up to this point in time, I am not sure if anything like that has happened,” PS Omollo noted.

The Interior Principal Secretary went on to question the motive behind allegations linking him to the alleged attack on the Senator, asking what interest he would have in targeting the legislator.

Omollo dismissed the claims as “street talk,” arguing that there was no basis or rationale for such accusations and insisting that his office had no conflict with the senator that would justify such actions.

The incident in question occurred on Wednesday, April 8, at a Java House outlet at Western Mall in Kisumu, where Senator Osotsi was reportedly assaulted by two men captured on CCTV footage.

Following the attack, Osotsi was airlifted to Nairobi and admitted to Karen Hospital for treatment, later alleging that PS Omollo was behind the incident and calling for his resignation.
