President William Ruto has broken the silence on the demise of Rachel Wandeto, the gospel singer who lost her life after suffering a petrol attack.
In a statement issued shortly after news of Wandeto’s death, the Head of State vowes that his government would take action against the perpetrators.
While mourning the death of Wandeto, the president reiterated that firm action would be taken against those responsible regardless of their political affiliation.
“May God grant the family and friends comfort, peace, and courage to bear with the loss of Ms Rachel Wandeto,” President Ruto’s statement read.
“The criminals that attacked this hardworking and promising lady will be held to account, irrespective of their affiliation”, the statement added.
According to reports, Wandeto lost her life barely 72 hours after she was doused in petrol and torched by assailants who are yet to be made public.
Further reports revealed that she suffered 70 per cent burns in her body, and was in urgent need of blood donation.
