Former Deputy President and DCP Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua has sent an advance team to the United Kingdom ahead of his planned visit to London.
In a statement issued on Thursday evening, May 7, Gachagua noted that the team would coordinate preparations for his upcoming engagements with Kenyans living in the UK.
The delegation includes Senator John Methu, Hon. Kanini Keega and celebrated mugithi musician Samidoh.

According to Gachagua, the trio will help organise and prepare for his visit to the United Kingdom, where he is expected to engage with members of the Kenyan diaspora in London.
He further noted that his DCP party remains focused on involving Kenyans living abroad in national conversations ahead of the 2027 General Election, adding that views collected from the diaspora community will help shape the party’s blueprint for the August 10, 2027 polls.
The planned trip comes weeks after Rigathi Gachagua first revealed that he would be travelling to London.
At the time, Gachagua did not disclose extensive details about the visit, only hinting that the trip was aimed at making key preparations ahead of upcoming political activities.
The DCP Party leader announced the planned UK visit on Monday, April 20, during the unveiling of John Mwaura as the party’s preferred candidate for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat.
Gachagua’s anticipated London tour also comes months after his visit to the United States, where he held engagements with members of the Kenyan diaspora.
The US tour was, however, cut short after a few weeks, with the former Deputy President explaining that he had to return to Kenya to join his party in preparations for the November 27, 2025, by-elections.
