Grammy President Panos Panay Set for High-Level Meeting With William Ruto

President of the Recording Academy, which hosts the Grammy Awards, Panos Panay, is set to visit Nairobi from May 26 to May 29 this year.

This visit will enable the Grammy’s President to hold high-level talks with President William Ruto.

The visit was announced in an official statement from the Recording Academy on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

The visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cultural and creative ties between Kenya and the United States and is being supported by the U.S. Department of State through its Arts Envoy Program.

During the Nairobi trip, Panay and Ruto are expected to explore strategic opportunities within Kenya’s creative economy, particularly in the music sector.

“The Recording Academy®’s President Panos A. Panay will travel to Nairobi, Kenya, from May 26 to May 29, 2026, for an official meeting with His Excellency President William Ruto. Panay’s visit is supported by the U.S. Department of State’s Arts Envoy Program,” the academy confirmed.

The discussions will focus on talent development, industry infrastructure, and expanding access to international markets.

Additionally, Panay will hold meetings with senior government officials and key stakeholders in the music industry.

The Recording Academy president is further scheduled to meet leading Kenyan artists and industry players.
