The family of slain Nairobi advocate Tom Ouya Imbukwa has revealed preliminary Preliminary reports of post-mortem examination.
According to the post-morterm, the deceased reportedly suffered extensive and severe injuries before his death.
Speaking at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) farewell home, Ouya’s family lawyer Njanja Maina said the examination painted a disturbing picture, though it stopped short of conclusively identifying the cause of death.
“We can confirm as a family that the postmortem established that he had severe injuries on the right side of his body. What has caused the injuries in the manner and extent has not been established,” Maina said.
“officers from the investigative unit have taken samples for forensic analysis, with the injuries documented just to try and see what caused this death. We can emphasise that his injuries were, however, very, very severe,” she added.
The family further warned against drawing premature conclusions, noting that investigations were still ongoing and that determining the exact cause of death would require further forensic work.
They disclosed plans to meet DCI officers next week on Tuesday, where investigators are expected to present detailed documentation from the scene where Imbukwa’s body was found, alongside an analysis of CCTV footage.
