KCAA Names Nicholas Bodo Acting Director General Amid Leadership Transition

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has named Nicholas Bodomajor as Acting Director General.

In a public notice dated April 23, 2026, the notice revealed that Bodo will replace the Director General Emile Arao, who exited on April 22 following the lapse of his tenure.

“The Board of Directors of the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority wishes to inform stakeholders and the public of a leadership transition within the Authority,” the notice read.

“The employment contract of the Director General, Emile Arao, came to an end on the 22nd April 2026, marking the completion of his tenure”, the notice added.

Arao’s contract simply ran its course, ending on a Tuesday after what the Authority’s board described as a period of “meaningful contribution” to civil aviation in the country.

According to reports, he has served as the Director General of the KCAA since his appointment in April 2022 for a three-year term, replacing Captain Gilbert Kibe.

The Board of Directors stated that Arao’s replacement is being consulted with the KCAA’s Parent Ministry, tasking him with maintaining operations while a permanent replacement is sourced.
