IEBC to Bar Candidates Associated with Political Violence in Upcoming Elections

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced that it is set to disqualify political aspirants linked to goons used to cause chaos during campaigns and other electoral processes ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The commission warned politicians that they face a possible disqualification if found to have necessitated chaos and disruptions to opponents.

According to the commission, it has experienced the use of goons by politicians, condemning what he described as a very bad phenomenon in which politicians exploit unemployed youth to disrupt electoral processes rather than engage voters peacefully.
