Speaking to the media after the session, Governor Orengo said they remain dissatisfied with the progress of investigations, noting that no arrests or summons have been made for some individuals allegedly linked to the incident.
The ODM Governor stated that they are prepared to pursue private prosecution against the alleged masterminds of the attack if police fail to arrest and arraign them in court.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna echoed similar concerns, warning that failure by police to act on available evidence would undermine law and order.
The incident involving Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi occurred on Wednesday, April 8, when he was attacked at a Java House outlet at Western Mall in Kisumu.
CCTV footage reportedly showed two men assaulting the senator, one wearing a cap, black t-shirt, and trousers, and another in a white hoodie and white cargo pants kicking and beating him during the incident.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kisumu have arrested three suspects in connection with the assault on Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi.
Those arrested include 24-year-old Carlos Owiti, also known as Kalonje, from Nyalenda; Eric Otieno, alias Dude (39), from Manyatta; and Vincent Odhiambo, alias Tinga (27), also from Nyalenda.
