The President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni is set to be officially be sworn in on May 12 following his election victory in January.
The announcement was made on Wednesday by Allan Kasujja, Executive Director of the Uganda Media Centre, an agency operating under the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance.
The swearing in ceremony is set to be held at Kalolo Ceremonial grounds.
According to the announcement, many dignitaries around the world are expected to attend.

According to reports, Museveni was re-elected for a seventh term after securing 7.9 million votes during the January 15 elections.
According to Uganda’s Electoral Commission, Museveni, 80, surpassed the 50 per cent threshold required to secure victory.
Museveni, who has ruled Uganda since 1986, campaigned on a platform of stability, economic growth and regional security, telling supporters that continuity in leadership was critical for the country’s development.
“Now therefore, candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, having obtained the highest number of votes in the election, and having received more than 50 per cent of the valid votes cast, the commission hereby declares him the elected president,” the Uganda’s commission announced.
