The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has urged Kenyans who are having difficulty confirming their voter registration status online to visit voter registration centres or IEBC offices.
According to the commission, it has issued the clarification amid increasing pressure from Kenyans, some of whom took to social media to lament about their inability to access their voter details through the portal.
This comes after Kenyans took to social media to raise the alarm, prompting activist and Niko Kadi initiator Allans Ademba to seek clarification from one of the commissioners.
According to the IEBC commissioner, the visit is not merely voter verification; many other scenarios are to be pursued as well.

IEBC urges Kenyans facing verification errors to visit local offices
“If an individual is not found but was registered, they must visit the constituency office for follow-up. Many scenarios need to be pursued,” the commission stated.
This comes days after the commission urged Kenyans who had register before 2013 General Elections to re-register themselves.
This raised a lot of concerns to Kenyans who wondered if everyone who had register themselves before 2012 to do so again.
However, IEBC clarified that only those who were not registered under the new Biometrics system to do so.
It further clarified that the data of those who had register before 2012 is still intact.
