Police officers in Busia have apprehended four suspects following a robbery incident.
In a statement on Saturday, March 28, 2026, the National Police Service ( NPS) stated that the incident occurred today at Sinduru Bridge.
According to a statement by the service, the victim was riding a motorcycle with a pillion passenger when they were intercepted by a gang of seven individuals.
“The victim was riding a motorcycle with a pillion passenger when they were intercepted by a gang of seven individuals armed with pangas, clubs and metal rods, who robbed them of the motorcycle”, part of the statement read.
The victims raised alarms which prompted members of the public to pursue the perpetrators.
This resulted in the arrest of the suspects in which led to the recovery of the stolen motorcycle.
The four individuals were taken into police custody awaiting arraignment in court.
“Upon arrest, the four individuals were placed in custody at Busia Police Station, and the motorcycle was secured as an exhibit pending further police processing. Officers are also pursuing the remaining three suspects, who fled the scene”, the statement added.
