Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has accused former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of causing division within his family.
In a statement issued on Monday, March 23, Kuria alleged that Gachagua was deliberately fueling the rift in an attempt to embarrass him.
The former Gatundu South lawmaker warned that he would push back against the move, signaling an escalation in the dispute between the two leaders.

Kuria’s remarks follow a recent development in which his brother, Aloise Kinyanjui, joined Gachagua’s Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP).
Kinyanjui, who is eyeing the Juja Constituency parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election, has since emerged as a close ally of Rigathi Gachagua, frequently accompanying him to political rallies and events across the Mt Kenya region.
On Saturday, March 21, Kinyanjui criticized his brother, Moses Kuria, over remarks suggesting that MPs elected on the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) ticket could be influenced by the government after the 2027 polls.
He dismissed the claims while taking issue with Kuria’s comments, escalating the ongoing political and family dispute between the two.
This development comes days after Rigathi Gachagua accused Moses Kuria of betraying the Mt Kenya region.
On Monday, March 17, the former Deputy President challenged Kuria’s claims that leaders elected on a DCP ticket would be influenced by the government.
In turn, Kuria maintained that Mt Kenya leaders who win positions in the 2027 General Election will be responsible for steering the region’s future, noting that Gachagua is barred from holding public office.
