Reports indicate that several regions suffered extensive structural damage, complicating rescue and relief operations as local authorities coordinated efforts to reach affected families.

In Nairobi, heavy rainfall overwhelmed drainage systems, submerging streets and destroying property, leaving residents stranded in some parts of the city.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Health has cautioned of an increased risk of building and infrastructure collapses during the ongoing March-April-May long rains.

They have called on residents in flood-prone areas to exercise caution and heed early warning alerts, as heavy rains are forecast to continue.
