The family of the late Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament (MP) Johanna Ng’eno has confirmed his burial date.
According to the family, the burial will take place on Friday, March 6, 2026.
This followed consultations between leaders and grieving relatives in Narok County where the burial programme was agreed upon during a meeting between the governor and bereaved families at the late MP’s home.
Following the confirmation of the burial date, the requiem mass will be held on Wednesday, March 4, at Nairobi Baptist Church.
Reports further indicate that a night vigil will then take place on Thursday, March 5, in line with Kipsigis traditions, as part of the cultural rites for the late legislator and others who perished in the crash.
Governor Ntutu, who is also the father-in-law of the late MP, said the two bodies, that of Ng’eno and Wycliffe Kiprotich Rono, will spend the night at his home because they were married according to the traditions of the Kipsigis Community.
On the other hand, the remaining four bodies will also be brought to Ng’eno’s home to join the others, as they were unmarried at the time of death, also keeping with Kipsigis customs and family wishes as well.
Furthermore, on Friday, March 6, 2026, a joint burial service will be held at Emurua Dikirr Primary School before the bodies are taken to their respective homes.
The separate burials for each of the deceased will then be conducted later that same day at their family homes.
