“The Government of Kenya is closely monitoring the evolving security situation in parts of the Middle East. We urge all Kenyan citizens residing in, or planning to travel to, the region to exercise heightened vigilance. The situation remains fluid and may change without notice,” read part of the advisory.

PS Roseline Njogu urged Kenyans living in the Middle East to register with the nearest Kenyan Embassy or Consulate to ensure they can be reached in an emergency.

Kenyans were also advised to steer clear of areas where security operations are ongoing or may take place and to postpone any non-essential travel.

She also stressed the importance of maintaining regular communication with family, employers, and the Kenyan mission, and relying solely on official channels for information.

Kenyans in distress are encouraged to contact the nearest Kenyan Embassy or Consulate immediately, or call the 24-hour diaspora emergency hotline at +254 207 876 000.

The advisory follows coordinated military action by the United States and Israel against Iran, prompting heightened security concerns in the region.
