The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has commenced investigations into a fatal helicopter crash that killed Johana Ng’eno and five other people in Nandi County.
In a statement issued on Saturday, February 28, the regulator confirmed that the AS350 helicopter crashed at Kabiet sub-location in the Mosop area of Nandi Hills at about 4:30 p.m.
According to KCAA, the aircraft had departed from Endebes and was en route to Mosoriot when the accident occurred.

The authority said it has activated the requisite protocols to facilitate a thorough inquiry into the incident.
The probe will be led by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Department (AAID), which is mandated to establish the cause of air accidents and recommend safety measures.
Additionally, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) conveyed its heartfelt sympathies to the families and friends of those who lost their lives in the crash.
Johana Ng’eno was among six individuals aboard the helicopter when it went down in Nandi Hills.
Ng’eno was serving his third consecutive term as the Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr Constituency, first elected in 2013.
At the time of his passing, he chaired the Departmental Committee on Housing, Urban Planning and Public Works and was also a member of the Liaison Committee in the National Assembly.
