Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johana Kipyegon Ng’eno is among the six individuals killed in a helicopter that crashed and burst into flames.
The incident happened on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in Mosop, Nandi County.
Reports indicate that the chopper made an emergency landing in Mosop due to bad weather and crashed moments after attempting to take off once the weather improved which was around 4:45pm.
According to data available on Flightradar24, the plane is an Airbus Helicopters H125, and the aircraft left Nairobi at 11:02am on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
However, it does not show when the plane landed at its destination.

Additionally, the available data does not indicate when the plane was scheduled to land from its destination.
According to reports, the authorities have recovered a mobile phone and SIM card belonging to the MP at the crash scene.
Earlier before his death, the MP had joined the families of the late Snr Chief ole Rurumo and Ole Kipembeu and the search and rescue team at Mara Rianta to stand in solidarity while trying to locate a nd retrieve the bodies of two young men.
Their vehicle was swept away by the Mara River on Sunday night.
In his statement, he urged the public to remain vigilant during this rainy season, particularly around flooded rivers and roads.
Among other individuals includes Amos Kipngetich Rotich, an officer with the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) and MP Ngeno’s photographer/ videographer.
