Two suspects have been nabbed after a coordinated anti-narcotics operation by the National Police Service (NPS).
In a statement shared on its official X account on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the NPS revealed that the operation targeted drug supply networks in Nairobi and Makueni counties.
According to NPS, the operation was carried out on February 24 and led to the disruption of two major bhang distribution chains.
“On 24th February 2026, in a well-coordinated crackdown on drug traffickers, officers from the National Police Service (NPS) disrupted two significant narcotics supply chains in Nairobi and Makueni Counties. In Nairobi, undercover officers from the Regional Headquarters arrested one suspect in possession of 268 rolls of bhang”, the statement read.
Reports indicate that the bhang was concealed in a suitcase which is suspected to have originated from Busia and was destined for Kitengela.
Additionally, in Makueni County, a joint security team carried out an operation at a shop in the Kambu area of Mtito Andei where they seized 108 kilograms of bhang.
“Separately, in Makueni County, a multi-agency security team raided a store in Kambu, Mtito Andei, and recovered 108kg of bhang”
Boths suspects are currently in police custody awaiting arraignment in court.
The items recovered during the operation have been kept as exhibits at the police station and will be used as evidence in court.
