Coast Crime Crackdown Yields Arrests, Drugs, Ammunition, and Forged Documents

Authorities in the Coast region have intensified operations against criminal networks, leading to a series of arrests and the recovery of contraband, forged documents, and ammunition.

The move comes as law enforcement agencies seek to dismantle organised crime and curb narcotics trafficking in the region.

Acting on credible intelligence, detectives apprehended Mohamed Omar Deya, alias “Babanginda,” who was found in possession of three rounds of ammunition and a white powdery substance suspected to be narcotics.

His arrest forms part of a broader crackdown targeting criminal gangs believed to be behind a range of illegal activities.

In a related operation, officers arrested Hanif Iqbal Sharbaz and Wisdorn Ndoro Mwalimu.

Both were allegedly found with forged land-related documents and other items linked to fraudulent activities, highlighting ongoing concerns about land scams in the Coast region.

The operation also led to the arrest of Priscila Lodukae.

A search of her residence, conducted alongside John Wachira Wanguno, uncovered packages of suspected cannabis sativa and cash in various denominations, believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking.

Law enforcement officials emphasised that the fight against crime, narcotics trafficking, and substance abuse remains a top priority not only in the Coast region but across the country.

Investigations into the arrested suspects and their networks are ongoing as authorities continue to clamp down on organised criminal activities.
