At the same time, Luka Kipchumba Kimeli has been confirmed as the Director General of the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) after serving in an acting capacity for seven months.
In a notice, KeNHA Board Chairperson Winfridah Ngumi announced that Kimeli’s appointment followed consultations with Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir and took effect on February 17, 2026.
Ngumi said the confirmation came after a competitive and transparent recruitment process carried out in line with the Kenya Roads Act, 2007, and other applicable public service procedures.
He expressed confidence that Kimeli’s leadership will strengthen the authority’s efficiency and accountability while advancing the delivery of safe, resilient, and world-class highway infrastructure to support national development and regional integration.
