HELB Raises Alarm Over Fraudulent Recruitment Notices

The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has cautioned members of the public against fraudulent recruitments which are carried out using its name.

In a statement on Thursday, February 12, 2026, HELB warned Kenyans, particularly job seekers, against individuals and groups claiming to offer employment opportunities.

According to the agency, it does not recruit its staff through intermediaries, either through agents or third-party recruiters, as the announcements are only made through its official channels.

“HELB wishes to inform members of the public and all job applicants that the loans board does not recruit through agents or third-party agencies,” HELB clarified.

It also stated that it does not charge any fees during recruitment or request applicants to submit medical reports or documents outside those outlined in official job advertisements.

The agency there informed the public that any demand for payment to acquire a job or get shortlisted should be treated as a fraud and reported to the relevant authorities.

“All fficial communication from HELB is conducted through verified channels only. For enquiries, please contact HELB through phone number +254 711 052 000, and email address, contactcentre@helb.co.ke.” it said.
