The National Police Service (NPS) have confirmed the arrest of two suspects found in possession of illicit drugs.
In a statement on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, the authority said that two were found in 110 litres of chang’aa, 70 rolls of bhang.
The police also recovered a pair of military boots, and ten strips of skin suspected to be hippopotamus skin.
“In Apondo Village, Kisumu County, officers from Ahero Police Station – in collaboration with the area Assistant Chief – carried out a targeted raid. One female suspect was arrested after she was found in possession of 110 litres of chang’aa, 70 rolls of a substance suspected to be bhang, one pair of military boots, and ten strip pieces suspected to be hippopotamus skin”, part of the statement read.
The suspects are currently being held at Ahero Police Station awaiting arraignment.
The NPS has therefore warned Kenyans that they will take decisive action against such criminals to uphold the rule of law, protect our communities, and safeguard public health and security.
