Police launched investigations following the slaughtering 34 donkeys at Kichakani in Ereteti, Kajiado West.
According to reports, the suspects had slaughtered the donkeys, intending to transport and sell the meat in Nairobi.
Further reports indicate that police recovered two vehicles and one motorcycle from the crime scene as the suspects escaped into the nearby bushes after being confronted by angry locals.
The crime scene also revealed donkeys that had already been skinned and packed into bags, while others were awaiting processing.
The matter has raised concerns among the public such as the Animal rights activists, led by Sylvester Wakhu, who condemned the act, noting that illegal donkey slaughter has become increasingly widespread, especially in Kajiado West and Central Kajiado.
