EALA MP Kanini Kega Quits Jubilee Party for DCP

East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Kanini Kega has officially left the Jubilee Party to join the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP).

In an update on Wednesday, February 4, DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua confirmed Kega’s entry into the party, terming the move a return home.

Gachagua said DCP offers a political platform for progressive leaders focused on shaping the country’s future leadership and welcomed Kega into the party.

This comes a few hours after Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala disclosed that retired President Uhuru Kenyatta is working closely with DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua.

Speaking on Tuesday, Malala alleged that the two leaders have been cooperating behind the scenes as part of a broader political strategy.

Malala linked the reported partnership to recent changes within the Jubilee Party, including the removal of Jeremiah Kioni from the Secretary General position and his replacement with Moitalel Ole Kenta.

He suggested that the leadership changes were aimed at easing tensions and fostering a more cooperative relationship between Jubilee and the Democracy for the Citizens Party.

He further stated that the collaboration between Uhuru and Gachagua is intended to strengthen their political alignment and provide an alternative voice for Kenyans, with the goal of safeguarding citizens from the policies and direction of the current administration under President William Ruto.
