Police officers attached to Kapsabet Police Station have come together to support Sandra Chereno, a Grade 10 student, by raising funds to enable her to report to school.
According to a statement issued by the National Police Service (NPS) on Sunday, February 1, Chereno walked into the police station seeking assistance to pay her school fees so she could join Grade 10.
Led by Nandi County Police Commander Samuel Mukuusi, the officers pooled resources to cover her school fees and also provided her with a school uniform and essential personal items to ensure she was adequately prepared for Senior School.

In addition, the officers facilitated her transport and admission to Ndalat Gaa Girls’ High School, enabling her to begin her studies without further delay.
The National Police Service expressed appreciation to Chereno for believing that she could find assistance at a police station and extended its best wishes as she embarks on her education journey.
NPS also praised officers from Kapsabet Police Station for intervening to ensure the student successfully joined school, noting that their actions went beyond routine duty to address a real community need.
The service further highlighted the gesture as a positive example of community policing, emphasizing that trust and cooperation between officers and the public help transform police stations into centres of support while strengthening long-term relationships with the communities they serve.
