Pauline Njoroge Signals Entry Into Nairobi County Politics

Political strategist Pauline Njoroge has announced plans to contest for an elective county position in Nairobi in the 2027 general election.

Speaking in an interview on Tuesday, December 23, Njoroge said she intends to seek a county-level seat in the capital but will disclose the specific position at a later date.

She expressed concern over what she described as a lack of an effective, people-centred development plan under the current Nairobi leadership.

Njoroge said her decision is driven by the need for a fresh, service-oriented approach to governing the capital, adding that she wants to be part of a team capable of translating a new vision into tangible improvements for Nairobi residents.

This development comes months after Njoroge dismissed a viral poster shared by Moses Kuria announcing his alleged bid for the Jubilee Party secretary-general position.

In a statement issued on Monday, June 16, Njoroge urged Jubilee Party members to ignore the poster, describing it as propaganda with no basis in fact or established party processes.

She noted that legitimate Jubilee Party officials would be formally gazetted following a court ruling that upheld the resolutions of the Jubilee National Delegates Conference (NDC) held on May 22, 2023.

According to Njoroge, any lawful changes to the party’s leadership would be conducted through the National Executive Council (NEC), and only individuals who have demonstrated loyalty and commitment to the party would be eligible for leadership roles.

She added that the party remains focused on rebuilding and would collaborate with like-minded opposition parties and leaders, cautioning members against distractions from individuals seeking to regain political relevance after previously abandoning the party.
