DP Kindiki Breaks Silence on His Health

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has addressed concerns about his health following remarks by Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku.

In a statement issued on the night of Monday, December 23, Kindiki reassured Kenyans that he is in good health.

Earlier in the day, Ruku said the Deputy President had delegated him to represent his office at the Kimalel Goat Auction in Baringo County, citing health reasons.

He added that Kindiki had asked him to convey his message to residents and reaffirm his continued support despite missing the event

“I have been sent by the Deputy President, who is not feeling very well. He told me that when I arrive, I should convey his greetings to the people of Baringo, and he has also sent me with a lot of money to buy Christmas goats. Therefore, if you see that the Deputy President is not here, he has sent me, and he is fully with you,” he noted.

Ruku’s remarks sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many Kenyans sending messages wishing the Deputy President a quick recovery.

Others, however, called for greater clarity regarding DP Kindiki’s health status amid the speculation.

The Deputy President was last seen in public on Friday, December 19, when he officiated the graduation of 147 cadet officers and 103 junior officers at the Kenya Wildlife Service Law Enforcement Academy in Manyani, Taita Taveta County.
