During the welcome ceremony, Juma commended the contingent for upholding Kenyaβs image on the international stage and led those in attendance in a moment of silence to honour colleagues who lost their lives during the mission.
The National Security Advisor to the President said the officersβ sacrifice would remain a lasting part of the nationβs proud legacy.
DIG Lagat praised the team, noting that the operational experience gained would help enhance policing standards and professionalism across the country, while Deputy Inspector General Gilbert Masengeli commended the officers for their distinguished service in Haiti.
The 100 officers formed part of the first contingent deployed to Haiti in June 2024.
Kenya has since sent four additional contingents to support efforts to restore stability in the gang-affected Caribbean nation.
The most recent group of 230 officers arrived at Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince on Monday, December 8.
The team was accompanied by Senior Assistant Inspector General James Kamau and Deputy National Security Advisor Joseph Boinett.
