Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has shared a heartfelt congratulatory message to Gift Osinya.
Gift Odinga is his adopted son who recently graduated from Scott Christian University.
In a post on his social media platform X on Saturday, December 6, 2025, the former recalled his son’s past encounter with the Al-Shabab militia in the 2014 Al-Shabab attack in Mombasa County.
“See God!! The God of miracles. The God of second chances. The same God who held Gift and Satrine when darkness tried to swallow them. If this is not God, then what is? Today, Gift Osinya graduates from Scott Christian University, a moment only God could write,” Sonko stated.
“Many remember their story: tragedy struck, Satrine was shot in the head by Al-Shabab, and young Gift stood strong like a lion. God spared them, healed them, lifted them, and rebuilt their lives from ashes,” the former Nairobi Governor added.
