The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested three men in connection with the murder of a woman whose mutilated body was discovered in Kirinyaga County last month.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, December 2, detectives in Kirinyaga East confirmed the arrests linked to the killing of Jackline Waruguru Kathuri, whose remains were found on November 22, 2025, in Ninga-ini village, Kirinyaga East Sub-County.
The discovery was made after officers at Kiamutugu Police Station responded to a distress call reporting a body in the area.

Police arrived to find the victim with extensive burn injuries, missing body parts, and signs of severe assault.
The body was taken to Kerugoya County Referral Hospital for preservation and a post-mortem examination.
Investigators immediately launched a manhunt, relying on forensic evidence to trace and arrest the main suspect, Collins Muchira Ngege.
During questioning, Ngege directed investigators to his alleged accomplices, John Brian Kimotho Kamau and Stephen Muchiri Karani, who were later arrested.
Early investigations indicate that the victim left her home on November 16, 2025, and did not return.
Preliminary findings show that she was gang-raped, brutally assaulted, and dragged to a nearby thicket where she was abandoned and left to die.
The three suspects remain in police custody as processing continues ahead of their expected arraignment in court.
