In a statement, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed noted that the accolade acknowledges Ruto’s commitment to advancing football development in Kenya.
The FKF President expressed optimism that Kenyan footballers will soon earn recognition at future CAF Awards, crediting the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen sports structures across the country.
CAF also honoured President Samia Suluhu of Tanzania and Uganda’s Yoweri Museveni during the ceremony, which was attended by CAF President Patrice Motsepe and FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
This year’s recognition comes on the heels of the successful African Nations Championship (CHAN), co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
