Despite the shocking attack, the employee said he is ready to move on and has no lingering issues with his employer, downplaying the public reaction to the incident.

The viral video that triggered nationwide debate showed the employer first striking the worker with a piece of paper before escalating the attack and kicking him.

He then grabbed an iron sheet and hit the employee again, followed by another round of punches.

This comes just two days after a Kwale court released a Dutch national caught on video assaulting police officers in Diani.

Judge Joy Mutimbame ruled that Elwin Ter Horst was unfit to stand trial after medical reports confirmed he has bipolar disorder.

Horst was first arrested on October 28, 2025, over claims that he had assaulted his girlfriend at a Diani hotel.

His conduct in custody later fueled nationwide outrage after a video of the incident spread across social media.

The footage showed him insulting police officers as they carried out their duties, blowing his nose toward one of them, and wiping mucus on the officer’s trousers.

Despite the provocation, the officers remained calm throughout the encounter.
