Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has spoken about how his removal from government affected his family, especially his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi.
Speaking in Nyeri on Saturday, Gachagua noted that although he has found peace after his impeachment, he regrets that Dorcas can no longer support the boychild the way she once did.
He stated that while he was in office, Dorcas led a major boychild initiative aimed at rehabilitating vulnerable young men struggling with addiction and depression.

Gachagua told the congregation, gathered for Dorcas’ ordination as a reverend, that her influence and reach have significantly reduced since his dismissal, hindering her efforts to continue the programme at the same scale.
The former deputy president also voiced his frustration over what he termed as the government’s failure to tackle the illicit alcohol crisis, especially in Central Kenya.
He noted that efforts previously made to fight illegal brews and support struggling young men have been undone, leaving many boys vulnerable once again.
During his address, the Democracy for the Citizens’ Party (DCP) leader praised his wife’s commitment, calling her a devoted and passionate servant of God.
Gachagua moreover described Dorcas as a source of hope whose dedication to ministry has transformed both their family and the broader community.
