Upon searching the vessel, the officers discovered 769 packages of methamphetamine weighing 1,024 kilograms, concealed in sacks.
During the operation, six Iranian nationals were arrested and placed in custody, while the narcotic consignment was seized and preserved as evidence.
The suspects were identified as Jasem Darzadeh, Nadeem Jadgal, Imran Baloch, Hassan Baloch, Rahim Bakshi, and Imtiaz Daryayi.
According to authorities, the six foreign nationals are expected to be arraigned in court on Monday, October 26, to face drug trafficking charges.
Investigations revealed that the intercepted vessel had been under international surveillance over its suspected involvement in drug trafficking prior to the raid.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has since launched a probe to establish the origin and intended destination of the 769 packages of methamphetamine.
