Two ex-Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers have been detained for eight days after being charged with theft.
Appearing before the Kibera Law Court, the former detectives were charged with abducting and robbing a blogger, Bravin Korir, of an undisclosed amount near Mbagathi Hospital.
Principal Magistrate Daisy Mutai granted the request for further investigations, stating that officers needed more time to finish their inquiry.

Police were able to recover items believed to be linked to the criminal network, such as multiple vehicle registration number plates, seven mobile phones, a tear gas canister, ID cards, and a pair of handcuffs.
Items recovered are suspected to have been used in unlawful detentions or intimidation.
