Renowned lawyer Nelson Havi has criticized a section of members within the ODM Party, labelling them as parasites while praising others as warriors.
Speaking during a recent interview, he drew a clear line between those he considers the party’s genuine defenders and those he accuses of opportunism.
Among those Havi identified as warriors are outspoken MPs Babu Owino of Embakasi East and Caleb Amisi of Saboti.

He also went on to hail Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who also serves as ODM Secretary General.
“Within ODM, there are parasites, but there are also warriors like Edwin Sifuna, Caleb Amisi, and Babu Owino. We may have our own dissatisfactions about them, but they are the warriors created out of a strong system. The parasites I need not mention, because we saw them speak during his funeral, saying, ‘This is where Baba left us’,” he noted.
The lawyer suggested that the so-called parasites should be allowed to take control of the party to expose their true nature and make way for a new political era.
Notably, Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda has called on President Ruto to officially take over the ODM Party and lead a joint ticket in the 2027 General Election.
In a statement on Monday, October 20, Jhanda said it was time for the Head of State to consolidate political unity by spearheading a coalition that brings together ODM, Ford-Kenya, UDM, KANU, and other allied parties ahead of the next polls.
