He moreover extended his condolences to the families, relatives, and friends of the deceased pupils following the tragic incident.

The tragic incident occurred on the afternoon of Monday, October 6, 2025, when construction debris from a nearby building site collapsed onto the Emmanuel New Life Academy compound in Kayole.

At the time, PP2 pupils were washing their hands when the debris suddenly fell into the school, striking four children.

The victims were immediately rushed to Uwezo Clinic for emergency treatment, but two of the pupils were pronounced dead on arrival.

The remaining two children, who sustained serious injuries, were later transferred to Mama Lucy Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.

Meanwhile, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have launched an inquiry to identify and apprehend the owner of the building linked to the fatal incident.
