The High Court has declined to grant bail to former Central Police Station OCS Samson Talaam and co-accused Constable James Mukhwana.
The two, alongside several civilians, are accused of killing Albert Ojwang on June 7th at Central Police Station, Nairobi.
The judge ruled that they would remain in custody until all the key witnesses had testified.
Even though the defence argued that no material evidence had been presented to prove interference with witnesses or tampering with evidence, the judge held that the balance of public interest and national security outweighed the personal liberty of the accused at this stage.
In that case, the bail application was dismissed, and the accused persons were ordered to remain in custody. were
