The Kenya Editors Guild (KEG) has recently announced the appointment of Linda Bach as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
In a statement, KEG President Zubeidah Kananu noted that Bach will take over from Rosalia Omungo, who has served as CEO for the past eight years.
Kananu expressed confidence in Bach’s ability to lead the organization into its next chapter.

She will officially assume office on October 16, 2025.
The appointment of Bach as CEO also comes alongside significant structural changes within KEG’s Executive Council, signaling a reorganization aimed at strengthening the guild’s leadership and governance framework.
In line with the provisions of the organization’s constitution, Bach will relinquish her position as Council Member Print on the Executive Council to allow for a smooth transition and clear separation of roles.
Kananu confirmed that the position will now be filled by Andy Kagwa of Standard Group, who has been appointed to take over the role and continue representing the interests of the print media.
At the same time, the guild announced the appointment of Millicent Awuor as chairperson of the Programmes Committee, a portfolio previously under Bach, marking another important change in the guild’s executive leadership.
